Parental leave for moms and dads

Spend time bonding with the newest member(s) of your family! Fortive offers twelve-weeks of flexible, 100% paid parental leave for mothers (in addition to the short-term disability benefit), fathers, and to those who adopt a child. You get to decide how to use it — you can take it all at once or select your days off over a period of time.

Family care leave 

When spouse/partner, child, or parent becomes ill that is when they need you most. Take time off to care for a family member with your two-weeks of 100% paid family care leave. (Note this benefit is subject to approval of Family and Medical Leave Act.) Contact your local HR department for additional details.

Parental leave for moms and dads

All full-time employees and part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week on a regular basis who are paid by a Fortive payroll in the U.S. control group and work in the U.S or as a U.S. expatriate are eligible to participate.

 Full or part-time temporary employees, individuals paid by contract or other independent contractors, leased employees, co-op students, interns, summer students, and third country nationals paid outside the U.S. are not eligible for coverage under the plan.

  You may participate in the plan after completing twelve (12) months of continuous active employment. If you work for an acquired company, prior service will apply towards the twelve-month waiting period.

  You must still be actively employed by Fortive or a Fortive subsidiary company at the time you file a claim.

Benefit Amount

 The plan provides a benefit of up to $20,000 per adoption for eligible expenses.

 If both adoptive parents are employed by Fortive or a Fortive subsidiary company, the maximum benefit allowed is $20,000 per adoption.

Eligible Children

 The adopted child must be under the age of 18 when placed with you for adoption or when the adoption is finalized.

 Eligible adoptions include domestic and foreign adoptions but do not include the adoption of step-child (your spouse’s child) or any other blood relative (Example: grandchildren, nieces, and nephews).
